Noise at Work Survey and Assessment.
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 covers the protection of a person from noise produced in the workplace. Noise can cause permanent damage to hearing when exposure is over a long period of time. Workers may be required to wear hearing protection and have there hearing checked at regular intervals. A noise survey involves  either estimating or measuring the  noise that is received by an employee and then assessing  by means of action values and exposure limit values what action is required in order to comply with the Regulations.
Managing noise involves the assessment of  risks, protecting employees, supplying worker    Information and training, health surveillance, maintenance and use of equipment. A review is required if anything that changes will affect the likely employee exposure to noise.

Hand -Arm Vibration Survey and Assessment.
The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations covers the protection of employees from the effects of vibration produced in the workplace. Hand-arm vibration (HAV) can be a hazard for employees working in  environments that require the personal  use of hand held power tools. Examples are grinders, hammer drills, lawnmowers and pedestal grinders. It is a legal requirement that  vibration exposure in the workplace must be managed. Prolonged exposure of the hand-arm system to mechanical vibration can result in hand-arm vibration syndrome with the more familiar vascular components of vibration white finger.
